Nina’s one-to-one mentoring sessions were one of the best decisions I’ve made in years. Her experience in picture-book publishing, artistic insight and clear, personalised guidance made the sessions invaluable.
She helped me build my skills, trust myself as an artist and continue developing my own book. Nina knows how to offer exactly the right feedback and encouragement, making the creative process feel both achievable and enjoyable. I highly recommend her mentoring to anyone serious about picture-book illustration.

Nina Gee, USA
“I really appreciated Nina’s honest and detailed feedback on my picture-book project. Her suggestions helped me understand how to shape the story into a focused, standard 32-page book and gave me the direction I needed to move forward.
I loved Nina’s ideas and found her feedback incredibly helpful. She took the time to look closely at my work, explain her thinking and give me practical steps for revision. I left the session feeling clear, motivated and confident about reworking my project.”

If you’re writing and illustrating your own picture book, I can support you with character development, visual storytelling, storyboarding, page layouts, and feedback on your artwork, helping you bring your creative vision together into a cohesive finished book.
For first-time picture book illustrators
If this is your first picture book project and you feel uncertain about the process, I’ll guide you through each stage, offering practical advice, constructive feedback, and reassurance as you develop your skills and visual style.
After each session, I’ll send you a written summary of the key points we discussed, together with your recommended next steps and any visual feedback from the session. This will provide a clear record of your progress and help you stay focused between sessions.

Novia Heroanto, picture book illustratorÂ
“Last year, I booked one-on-one mentoring with Nina to work on my picture book illustrations. She helped me develop an illustration style that truly resonated with me, offered invaluable constructive feedback on character design and art direction, and supported me in managing deadlines.
I’m now returning to mentoring with Nina to work on a hand-drawn children’s picture book, and I’m excited to continue developing my work with her guidance. Nina has been a wonderful mentor, and I highly recommend her mentoring to other illustrators. Thank you, Nina, for all that you do!”
