Day 2: Observation to Imagination
How to bring human qualities and imagination to a four-legged animal
Welcome to Day Two of the Animal Character Design Mini-Course!
Today, we’ll be drawing a series of pigs, exploring how to add human qualities and a touch of imagination.
Most animals start off with a simple egg shape. The key differences when drawing a pig compared to a cat, a sheep, or a mouse lie in their ears, snout, limbs, and tail.
Feel free to use this same technique to try drawing a different four-legged animal if you’d like!
Today’s Task: Follow along as we create a series of pigs standing, lying down, marching, and even flying! I’d love to see your favorite, so be sure to share it with me on Instagram using #acdtask and #drawwithnina.
Join me tomorrow for our next lesson, where we’ll be drawing bears!
