Day 2: Whimsical Wonderland Faces
Today, we’ll paint a series of Wonderland faces inspired by beloved characters from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Welcome to Day 2 of the Watercolour Wonder Mini-Course. Using only our three primary colours, we will paint characters inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, including Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Queen and King of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the Dormouse, the White Rabbit, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
This fun and colourful approach allows for spontaneity and imagination as we play with shapes and expressions.
You Will Need
-
Watercolour Paint: 3 Primary Colours: I’ll be using warm primaries—Winsor and Newton Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Red, and Cadmium Yellow.
-
Watercolour Paper: A sheet of watercolour paper: I’m using a Bockingford watercolour pad, A4, 200gsm, cold-pressed.
-
Watercolour Brush: I’m using a number 6 round sable watercolour brush.
-
Palette: For mixing colours.
-
Vessel for Water: A container to hold clean water.
-
Paper Towel: For mopping up excess water.
- Fine Liner: For outlining your characters. If you don't have a fine liner, you can use ink pens, dip pens, a graphite pencil, or a coloured pencil.
